Legend of the Archons
The Roleplaying Game
Like any other wiki, this site is an eternal work in progress!
Introduction
Legends. Folktales. Myths. Gilgamesh, Odysseus, Heracles, Roland, El Cid, King Arthur, Grutte Pier, Sinbad the Sailor. These are names and stories that have captured the imaginations of humanity for centuries. Every legend has a beginning, and many hold a kernel of truth, either historically or with regards to insights about human nature or society. In Legend of the Archons, you will discover and create many more legends. Men and women live in a world where Fate plays an active hand, though most can barely feel its caressing, guiding hand in their lives for its own inscrutable purposes. Some, however, play a more active part in the drama of history, and Fate seeks them out and fills their path with dangers, rewards and most importantly, with choices that will shape their own Fate as well as that of the world about them. They are marked out for great and terrible things, and their deeds for good and ill are told and retold for generations to come. These men and women are living Legends, vessels of Fate itself. Welcome to the world of Legend of the Archons.
Legend of the Archons is a stand-alone heroic fantasy roleplaying game set in a world somewhat similar to (yet very different from) Renaissance Europe following the Thirty Years War. This is a land across which armies have battled incessantly for a generation of men, and which is finally getting a chance to catch its breath - yet where continent-wide war could spark again at any time. This is a land in which religion plays a major role, where matters of faith may also be matters of life and death.
The system used in Legend of the Archons is based on and re-imagined from the brilliant and justifiably award-winning Spirit of the Century game system from Evil Hat Productions, which is itself a heavily revised version of the acclaimed FATE roleplaying game. Unlike Spirit of the Century, Legend of the Archons is intended for ongoing campaigns though it is also easy to utilize for pickup games as well. Characters can be made quickly, and gameplay is structured so that the game is necessarily focused on the players and their characters. This is not a game about sitting back and looking at how cool the game world is (though it is cool), it is a game where the ongoing saga of the game will be inherently built around showcasing your character - not just how cool the character is, but how the character's actions mold the Fate of the world around him - actions have meaning, and players' choices will have consequences both personal and epic.

Online Game II - Agents of Change
We are running a new and rebooted game of Legend of the Archons. For the moment this is being run as a private story writing exercise and game, but once we feel that it's in proper swing we do hope to open it to other players again at some point.
Legends II - This is the central repository of information on the rebooted game. Each page that is relevant to that game will have a link here.
Online Game I - The Prophet's Gambit
This wiki is also home to a repository of information for an online game of Legend of the Archons that was at least partially a playtest. The Prophet's Gambit is on what is almost certainly a permanent hiatus.
